HERNDON, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/28/09 -- RCN Metro Optical Networks, a division of RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCNI) and a premier provider of fiber optic-based network solutions, announced today that it has appointed Patrick O'Hare as its new Vice President of Operations.

Based out of the RCN Metro headquarters in New York, O'Hare is responsible for field operations, network operations, inside and outside plant engineering and construction as well as facilities and business continuity/disaster recovery.

Prior to his work with Zayo Bandwidth, he held several leadership positions in NY Telephone, NYNEX, Bell Atlantic, and Level 3 Communications. O'Hare received his Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York - University at Albany.
