SiCortex Inc. has won a 2009 Green Business Award from the Boston Business Journal. The Green Business Award is presented to fourteen innovative Massachusetts companies that are advancing green initiatives in the state. The publication’s editorial team selected SiCortex’s energy efficient high-productivity computing (HPC) system as a winner in the “invention” award category. “Massachusetts is well-known for driving innovation, and we are honored to be recognized in our home state as a leader in advancing green technology,” stated Chris Stone, president and CEO of SiCortex, Inc. “Reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions by investing in clean and green technologies is increasingly important for companies aiming to minimize global warming and their carbon footprints. And we at SiCortex have proven that energy efficiency does not have to mean a loss of productivity; our customers are achieving more while consuming less.” SiCortex Co-founder Jud Leonard accepted the award on behalf of the company during the Boston Business Journal’s Green Business Summit at the Sheraton Boston Hotel in Boston on May 15, accompanied by fellow co-founders Matt Reilly and John Mucci. The summit celebrated the Green Business Award recipients and featured a keynote presentation by Ian Bowles, Massachusetts Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs as well as a panel discussion on the future of the clean technology industry in Massachusetts. SiCortex, founded by Leonard, Reilly and Mucci in 2004, manufactures the world’s most energy efficient computers. In an industry focused on speed and power, the company has emerged as a green technology leader with its high-performance systems that are built from the silicon up to ensure breakthrough computing power at the lowest consumption of electricity and cooling in the industry.
