Greenplum Appoints Keith Budge as General Manager Asia Pacific and Japan

Greenplum, a leading provider of database software for the next generation of data warehousing and analytics, today announced the appointment of former Business Objects and Oracle executive Keith Budge as General Manager Asia Pacific and Japan. Budge will be responsible for driving Greenplum’s business in the Asia Pacific region, where customers such as Telecom Malaysia, Thailand’s AIS and Reliance Communications are already using Greenplum to manage and analyze massive amounts of critical data.

“Many companies in the region are still experiencing growth in their business, and every company is dealing with rapid growth in the volumes and complexity of information and data they need in order to manage customer services, financial performance, and business operations," said Budge. “Government organizations also need to deal with massive volumes of data as they seek to improve services, and provide economic opportunity and national security," he added. "What excites me about Greenplum is its ability to address these needs through unique technology which enables massive-scale data warehousing and information management, with very high performance levels, but at a very much lower cost than older technologies."

Before joining Greenplum, Keith was senior vice president and general manager Asia Pacific and Japan at Business Objects S.A. In this role, Keith led the growth of Business Objects in the region, recruiting talented executives, delivering double-digit growth in sales and services, and improving margins in emerging countries.

Prior to Business Objects, Keith served as senior vice president of Oracle Corporation in the Asia Pacific region, where he was responsible for managing seventeen countries across the region. He held a number of top-level positions in his twelve years with Oracle Asia Pacific, including serving as regional managing director of the South Asia region and managing director of Oracle Singapore. Prior to Oracle, Budge spent eight years with Australia's Telstra Corporation in business development, sales, and marketing management positions. Keith also spent two years in the Australian public service, where he led significant changes in policy, legislation and operations in the areas of telecommunications management, government purchasing and public sector information technology planning and performance evaluation.

“We are very pleased to welcome someone with Keith’s market expertise and track record to the Greenplum team,” said Joe Otto, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Greenplum. “Keith’s exceptional international business experience and leadership will be a significant asset to Greenplum as we continue to expand in the fast-growing Asian market.”
