TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Sweetbay Supermarket is informing customers today that Hannaford brand chocolate chip ice cream (64-ounces) sold at Sweetbay stores throughout Florida was packaged incorrectly and contains walnuts. The ice cream, packaged as chocolate chip, contains maple walnut ice cream. The product has been removed from all Sweetbay store shelves. Sweetbay wants customers to be especially alert because of shoppers who may have any nut allergies.

"We want to make sure that our shoppers are alerted about this product recall so that those with nut allergies can be notified immediately," notes, Nicole LeBeau, Sweetbay Supermarket spokesperson. "The health and wellness of our customers is our primary concern."

The packaging/labeling error occurred at a House of Flavors manufacturing facility in Ludington, Michigan and affects only Sweetbay stores. Shoppers who purchased the ice cream can return it for a refund at any Sweetbay store.
