Atlassian, makers of JIRA, the enterprise issue tracker, and Confluence, the most widely used wiki, today announced they have opened their European headquarters in Amsterdam. The strategic location will allow the company to better serve the company's second largest market -- Europe -- through expanded support and pre-sales offerings and local staff.

Despite the economic downturn, Atlassian recently ended another blockbuster financial year, doubling once again their revenue, to $35 million. While only six years old, the lightweight enterprise software company continues growing with no direct sales force and transparent pricing on their website. The opening of the European headquarters is a testament to the company's unique business model.

Having opened an office in Gdansk, Poland in March 2008 focused on software development, Amsterdam is slated to be the European sales and technical support headquarters for Atlassian.
