SEATTLE, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have launched a fall sale featuring low fares to many of the carriers' destinations in the Lower 48. The one-way fares start as low as $49 for Horizon Air flights in Washington and Oregon and $69 for Alaska Airlines flights to the Bay Area.

"Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air cover the West with more flights to more destinations on the West Coast than any other airline," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience. "We're hoping that customers will take advantage of these low fares and our great schedules to plan a fall getaway before the holidays."

Customers should act fast, as tickets must be purchased by Oct. 23 for travel from Oct. 24 through Dec. 17, 2008.

Sample one-way fares are: $49 between Portland and Redmond/Bend, Ore.; $69 between Seattle and San Francisco; $99 between Portland and Phoenix; $109 between Seattle and Orange County, Calif.; $129 between Seattle and Palm Springs, Calif.; and $130 between Seattle and Minneapolis/St. Paul. (The carrier begins twice-daily, nonstop service between Seattle and the Twin Cities on Oct. 26.)

Alaska Airlines and sister carrier Horizon Air together offer more than 75 daily roundtrip flights between Seattle and 16 California airports. They are the only airlines serving all five Bay Area airports: Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose and Santa Rosa; and all five major airports in Southern California: Burbank, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Ontario and Orange County.

Fare Rules: Seats are limited and subject to availability. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 23, 2008. Travel must be completed between Oct. 24, 2008, and Dec. 17, 2008. Tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making your reservation and at least 14 days prior to your departure. Blackout dates are Nov. 26 and 30, 2008. Passengers may check one bag for free. A second bag may be checked for $25. A fee of $100 will be assessed for each additional checked bag. Additional fees apply to overweight or oversized checked baggage.
