POTTSVILLE, Pa., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Empire Education Group, the nation's largest system of corporate owned cosmetology schools, announces the company's 4th Annual National Day of Beauty. On Saturday, October 11 all proceeds from all hair, skin and nail services will benefit CUT IT OUT, an organization dedicated to helping victims of domestic abuse, and local women's shelters in every community across the nation in which the company's 87 beauty schools operate through Empire Gives Back.

"As one of this country's leading educators of the next generation of beauty professionals, Empire is perfectly positioned to support CUT IT OUT by teaching our more than 11,000 students per year about domestic violence and how to respond when clients are suffering from abuse," said Franklin K. Schoeneman, CEO and chairman of Empire Education Group. "But we are not stopping at education. We are dedicated to truly making an impact by promoting public awareness of this issue, which is so often hidden from view. Each of our eighty-seven schools will be raising money, supporting women's shelters and helping women learn how to get the help they need."

To raise funds:

-- Students, educators and school staff are selling $5.00 haircut cards in advance of the National Day of Beauty. Clients can redeem the cards on October 11 for their service at each school.

-- Each school will be selling purple ribbon pins for $5.00 each. The purple ribbon represents the company's support in raising awareness about domestic violence.

-- Clients, students and staff may purchase donation circles for $1.00, with all funds going to local shelters.

-- Students and staff will donate money to wear purple on dress down day every Friday leading up to the event.

-- Schools will also collect donations of canned food, shampoo and other items to be donated to local shelters.

Last year during the company's 3rd Annual Day of Beauty, Empire Education Group raised $223,000 for adolescents and children needing help.
