eteration, a company specialized in Java and open source technologies, and ObjectWeb, an international nonprofit consortium of companies and research organizations who have joined forces to produce next-generation open source middleware, announced the availability of ObjectWeb Lomboz 3.2 with features addressing Enterprise Portals and Service Oriented Architectures.
With version 3.2, ObjectWeb Lomboz becomes the only open source enterprise development tool that provides an integrated solution covering Java Web development, portals and SOA. Over the last two years, ObjectWeb Lomboz has had over 2 million downloads and is well established in its fourth consecutive year at the top of ObjectWeb's downloads. Professional support is available from eteration for individuals and enterprises.
“eteration continues its commitment to ObjectWeb Lomboz, Eclipse Foundation and Open Source Technology,” said eteration CEO Naci Dai. “Moreover, we are continually building important new strategic alliances within the ObjectWeb Consortium, now including eXo Platform and JOnAS. The addition of these new alliances will enable the building of powerful Open Source corporate portals.”
ObjectWeb Lomboz 3.2 adds support for portal development (ObjectWeb eXo Platform), popular technologies from the Apache Software Foundation (Struts, XMLBeans), Service Component Architecture runtimes (Apache Tuscany), and Enterprise Service Bus (ObjectWeb Celtix).
“Not all Java developers target open source middleware environments, but many of them are familiar with the open source world and like to use productivity tools. In this respect, Lomboz is a very successfull project which brings a significant contribution to ObjectWeb's traction," said Francois Letellier, ObjectWeb Executive Director. "Lomboz also is an outstanding example of collaboration within the ObjectWeb community and with the Eclipse Foundation.”
