SmartBear Software today announced the availability of AlertSite for Magento, a free plug-in for the Magento eCommerce platform that is available from the Magento Connect Marketplace. With this extension, Magento users gain basic website monitoring services, daily samples of browser performance and selective benchmark support for free. AlertSite is the leading website performance monitoring tool in Internet retailing. According to new global estimates by eMarketer, eCommerce sales hit $1 trillion for the first time in 2012.
“We are very excited to expand the reach of our website performance monitoring tools used by over one million users to communities such as Magento who are making the lives of developers easier,” said Ken Godskind, VP Monitoring Services at SmartBear. “The Magento integration creates thought leadership and product innovation within Internet retailing, bringing extended value to this community.”
Store performance can be a challenge and retailers need to leverage every online visitor. Site availability, speed and user experience optimization are crucial to online success. By using the AlertSite solution, Magento users can now improve store results by improving website performance and results including conversion, time on site, bounce rates and average order sizes.
“AlertSite for Magento integrates a view of availability and performance directly into the Magento console for free, providing valuable user experience information,” said Marc Infield, President of California-based Infield Design. "Response time is key on any eCommerce site and the AlertSite extension is the simplest way to get objective performance metrics within Magento.”

The Magento eCommerce platform serves more than 125,000 merchants worldwide and is supported by a global ecosystem of solution partners and third-party developers. In August 2011, Magento was acquired by eBay Inc., and is now a division of X.commerce, Inc. (an eBay Inc. company).
