Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/gvlnch/global_wireless) has announced the addition of the "Global Wireless Machine-to-machine Modules Market 2012-2016" report to their offering.
One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increasing adoption of mobile devices. The Global Wireless Machine-to-machine Modules market has also been witnessing the growing adoption of cloud-based M2M applications. However, the declining ASPs of wireless M2M modules and network services could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.
The key vendors dominating this market space are Sierra Wireless Inc., Gemalto N.V., Telit Wireless Solutions, and SIMCom Wireless Solutions Co. Ltd.
The other vendors mentioned in the report are AnyDATA Inc., Cinterion Wireless Modules GmbH, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., iWOW Connections Pte Ltd., Maestro Wireless Solutions Ltd., Novatel Wireless Inc., Quectel Wireless Solutions Co. Ltd., u-blox AG, and ZTE Corp.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio's Telecom team said: ''A wireless network infrastructure is indispensable for the deployment of wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. In North America, where the adoption of M2M modules is predicted to be the highest in the world in the coming years, wireless coverage was, for several years, inadequate for long-haul trucking requirements. Instead, satellite connectivity was used, which is expensive but offers low bandwidth. Since wireless coverage has increased in North America, a deviation in demand has occurred from satellite toward terrestrial wireless connectivity in commercial telematics. This trend is likely to emerge in other countries as well, leading to increased sales of wireless M2M modules.''
According to the report, one of the main drivers is the increasing adoption of mobile devices. People across the globe are increasingly using mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and personal digital assistants (PDAs) for personal as well as official purposes. These devices are intelligently connected to each other through advanced M2M modules, smart sensors, and software. This helps organizations quickly obtain real-time information, which is a key success factor for any business model.
