Immersion Corporation (Nasdaq:IMMR), the leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that the recently released “docomo NEXT series ELUGA X P-02E” smartphone manufactured by Panasonic, has launched with Immersion technology. The smartphone, which includes Immersion’s TouchSense® 3000 embedded control software and Integrator software, is the first to market as a result of a new license agreement between Immersion and Panasonic.
“We’re excited to add Panasonic to our growing list of licensees in Japan,” explains Dennis Sheehan, Immersion’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “By incorporating Immersion’s Integrator software into their design, Panasonic is providing a consistent high quality tactile experience and the ability for users to customize the feel of their device to meet their unique preferences.”
The ELUGA X smartphone is only available in Japan through NTT DOCOMO. The ELUGA X boasts a thin, waterproof design, using Android 4.1.2.
