Solutelia, LLC (Solutelia) today announced it has completed its investment into revolutionary millimeter wave point-to-point radio developer and manufacturer, Athena Wireless Communications, Inc. (Athena Wireless). This strategic investment makes Solutelia the second largest shareholder of Athena Wireless and the exclusive global sales and marketing partner for all Athena Wireless products.
Athena Wireless brings state-of-the-art technology to fiber backhaul, and an innovative solution for small cell backhaul. The Athena Wireless radios are the first fully-digital gigabit millimeter wave radios, maintaining the smallest size and weight of any millimeter wave radio in the market.
This new partnership allows Athena Wireless to take advantage of Solutelia’s respected position as the global engineering consulting resource to the telecommunications industry. Solutelia expands upon its stronghold of wireless intelligence solutions by now offering ground-breaking products which allow wireless carriers, Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) and healthcare/education/corporate campuses to expand and offer more capacity where fiber is not available.
“Our customers are increasingly seeing the need to expand their network by deploying small cell where backhaul plays an important role. Athena products, including their small cell and backhaul solutions are one of the most innovative in the market,” said Mohssen Davari, CEO of Solutelia.
Athena Wireless is known for a revolutionary and exciting portfolio of products which will be released in 2013 through Solutelia. Included will be the 60Ghz (released in 2012), the 80Ghz (expected release in 1Q13) PTP millimeter wave radios and LTE small cell eNodeB (expected released in 3Q13). Both radios have 1Gbps, full-duplex throughput. “The addition of Solutelia’s current carrier contacts along with their current and future sales initiatives will greatly add to our continued sales growth,” says Eduardo Tinoco, CEO of Athena Wireless. As part of the strategic investment, Mohssen Davari, CEO of Solutelia will sit on the Board of Directors at Athena Wireless.
