NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The ADVERTISING Club of New York, in conjunction with their sponsors EYE, USA TODAY, AdPro, and Advertising Redbooks, brought together the brands and agencies shaping the Out of Home (OOH) advertising medium at the 5th Annual Out of Home event on December 5, 2012, at the New York Athletic Club.
The sold-out event featured speakers and panelists from leading media and OOH agencies and brands, including Carat, Aegis Media, Posterscope, and ESPN, who discussed the convergence of media, technology and content and how these factors affect the OOH discipline. Chris Gayton, Senior Director of Media and Brand Engagement at Gap, delivered the keynote address.
"The convergence of different media channels, content and technology has the potential to make Out of Home one of the most vital tools available to marketers. This event was designed to explore the arising opportunities and the things that agencies and media owners need to do differently as a result. The speakers' diverse perspectives and knowledge shaped the day, providing valuable insight to all attendees," said Connie Garrido, CEO of Posterscope.
Additionally, the winners of the OAAA'S Out of Home Media Plan Awards were announced at the event. Chrysalis took home the top prize for its Hennessy campaign, which utilized high impact, innovative, first-to-market OOH strategies alongside broad-reach vehicles at key target locations to reintroduce and generate intrigue in Hennessy celebrity stories, while also driving volume increases in consumption at local clubs, interactions with the brand, and earned media surrounding the new Hennessey brand.
The OOH event chairs included: Connie Garrido, CEO of Posterscope; Rocky Sisson, Chief Revenue Officer, Clear Channel; and Dave Yacullo, CEO & President, Outdoor Media Group.
