NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- Zipmark, a pioneer in mobile and online payments, and RentShare, a disruptive rent payment platform, today announced a partnership to bring the process of paying rent into the 21st century. Residents who use RentShare to pay rent will now be able to pay with Zipmark's secure digital check. Through Zipmark, property managers signed up for RentShare will now be able to receive guaranteed funds deposited on the morning of the next business day. Further, Zipmark's merchant on-boarding allows property managers to begin accepting digital check payments quickly.
"RentShare is a superb rent payment portal," said Jay Bhattacharya, co-founder and CEO of Zipmark. "The resident experience on RentShare is second to none and Zipmark couldn't be happier to be added as a payment option on RentShare. Residents will be able to pay rent with Zipmark secure, 100% digital checks, and property managers and landlords will receive guaranteed funds on the next day."
"We're excited to provide Zipmark," said Trevor Geise, co-founder of RentShare. "The integration with Zipmark provides a big value add for property managers and allows residents even more flexibility. Property Managers we speak with want to receive their money as quickly as possible and can be frustrated by the seemingly unavoidable delays caused by paper check and ACH transactions. Residents are eager for a way to pay instantly without having to wait (sometimes two days) to verify their bank account or alternatively paying the high convenience fees associated with credit cards. Paying with Zipmark is an affordable way to speed up both sides of the transaction. RentShare is the easiest way to accept online rent payments and Zipmark is the smartest, fastest way to send and receive those funds. This partnership makes a lot of sense all around."
Zipmark's goal is to remove barriers between businesses and their money by bringing the checkbook into the 21st century: reducing the amount of time and money it takes to make a check payment, eliminating the possibility for bounced checks and taking all risk out of the equation for payer and payee alike. Zipmark was launched in 2010 by Jay Bhattacharya and Jake Howerton, and is based in New York City. Zipmark's investors are Village Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, NYC Seed, High Peaks Venture Capital and the New York City Investment Fund.

RentShare is the easiest way to pay rent. Through RentShare's intuitive portal, any renter in the United States can pay rent online with a credit card, debit card, or checking account. For roommates, RentShare goes further by removing much of the drama associated with shared living situations. RentShare allows everyone to split household expenses and easily get paid back. Plus, they take care of sending out payment reminders and consolidating everyone's payments into a single check so that roommates don't have to hassle each other.
